Getting There?

Umngazi is situated in the heart of Pondoland, 18 kilometers south of Port St Johns. SA Airlink provides direct daily flights from OR Tambo to Mthatha, which is approximately 90 kilometers from Umngazi. If needed, transfers can be organised through the hotel.

For those driving from Johannesburg, the route passes Kokstad before turning onto the R61 towards Port St Johns. This drive takes around 11-12 hours, so it's advisable to take a break overnight.

If traveling from Cape Town, take the N2 North and follow the directions towards Port St Johns from Mthatha.

From Durban, follow the R61 route passing by the Wild Coast Sun, Bizana, Flagstaff, and Lisikisiki.
