Situated among Dubai's famous landmarks and islands, the Atlantis Dubai Hotel is located on Palm Jumeirah Island, a mere 30-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. This artificial island, shaped like a palm tree, provides stunning views of the ocean and Dubai's spectacular skyline.

One of the main reasons we opted to stay at Atlantis the Palm was the exclusivity it offers to its guests. A major highlight was the unlimited access to the adjacent Aquaventure Waterpark, coupled with a visit to the Lost Chambers Aquarium.

In addition to enjoying Aquaventure, we had the privilege of accessing exclusive areas designated for hotel guests, including the stunning lobby and private beach. Each morning during our stay, we would wake up early to explore the hotel before non-residents arrived, allowing us to fully enjoy the aquarium, serene beaches, and pools.

ALTERNATIVE ATTRACTIONS TO DISCOVER IN DUBAI

At The Top, Burj Khalifa — Dubai

Burj Khalifa, Dubai
Burj Khalifa, Dubai

The Top of Burj Khalifa is often called the ultimate Dubai experience — and it truly is a symbol of architectural brilliance and engineering mastery.

A high-speed elevator whisks you up to At The Top on the 124th and 125th floors in seconds, where panoramic views of Dubai unfold at 456 meters above the ground. From up here, you can admire the city’s gleaming skyline, the calm Gulf waters, and the endless stretch of desert — a breathtaking blend of modernity and nature.

The two observation decks are connected by both an elevator and a staircase, offering glimpses into Dubai’s fascinating rise from desert sands to global wonder. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows, high-powered telescopes, and an outdoor terrace perfect for those picture-perfect moments — it’s easy to see why this spot draws visitors from all over the world.

That said, despite opting for the fast-track pass to reach the top quickly, I felt the real magic of Burj Khalifa is best experienced from outside. Once you’re up there, it’s quite crowded — everyone vying for that perfect shot — and while the view is impressive, it isn’t dramatically different from other skyscraper vantage points in Dubai.

In hindsight, I’d probably spend that money elsewhere — unless, of course, you want to say you’ve been to the top of the tallest building in the world (and that’s definitely a story worth telling to your friends 😉).

The Dubai Fountain — A Dazzling Spectacle

The Dubai Fountain
The Dubai Fountain

This mesmerising display of water, music, and light is the tallest performing fountain in the world and an absolute must-see when in Dubai. Stretching over 900 feet — the length of more than two football fields — the Dubai Fountain sits on the vast 30-acre Burj Lake, right at the base of the iconic Burj Khalifa.

Each performance is a captivating dance of water and light, choreographed to a mix of musical styles — from classical masterpieces to contemporary Arabic hits and global favourites. It’s one of those moments where art, technology, and emotion come together in perfect harmony.

You don’t have to spend much to experience it — simply stand along the promenade and enjoy the show for free, or elevate the moment by booking a table at one of the nearby restaurants overlooking the lake. Watching the fountains sway and soar while enjoying a delicious meal is truly one of Dubai’s most magical experiences.

Museum of the Future — Dubai’s Glimpse Into Tomorrow

The Museum of the future in Dubai
The Museum of the Future, Dubai

Dubai has unveiled yet another jaw-dropping gem that’s stealing the spotlight — an architectural wonder designed to whisk anyone who walks through its doors into a mind-bending journey through time.

The Museum of the Future (MOTF) is like stepping into a time machine. With seven futuristic floors imagined by some of the world’s top designers, this one-of-a-kind attraction immerses you in exhibits that explore what lies ahead for humanity. It blends science, technology, and a touch of spirituality to give visitors a taste of a world that once seemed light-years away.

That said, while the architecture itself is absolutely spectacular — both outside and in — the museum’s exhibits didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Personally, I’d rate it a 5 out of 10 for the overall experience. It’s worth seeing for its stunning exterior and design brilliance, but unless you’re a tech enthusiast or simply want to tick it off your Dubai bucket list, you could easily skip going inside and still be impressed.

Dubai — Perfect for a Few Days

Dubai makes a fantastic stopover, even for just a few days. In that short time, you can catch a glimpse of its dazzling skyline, vibrant culture, and unforgettable experiences that stay with you long after you leave.
