"You’ll be zigzagging on ziplines high above terrain that’s not just scenic, but ancient—this landscape is estimated to be a jaw-dropping 2.500 million years old!

Ready for Zip-lining adventure!

We discovered it this April when some friends visited us from the UK—real adventure junkies! In our quest to find something exhilarating near Joburg, we stumbled upon the Magalies Canopy Tour, and it turned out to be a total winner".

🚗 Getting There

The Canopy Tour is about 1 hour from Pretoria and 1.5 to 2 hours from Johannesburg. Be prepared for toll roads—so carry some cash or a card that works at toll booths.

💰 Cost

For our group of 9, we paid:

  • R795.00 per adult

  • R695.00 per child (under 18)Plus, we scored a 10% discount for being a group of more than six!

The tour company also offers a variety of packages, so check their website to find the one that best suits your adventure level.

🌄 What to Expect

Magalies Canopy Tour isn't just about zip-lining—though the zip lines themselves are breathtaking, with incredible views of the Magaliesberg mountains. What sets this tour apart is the mini game drive that comes with it. The canopy tour is based on a farm that’s home to wild animals like kudu, zebra, and even leopard, so your adventure includes a safari-style twist.

And the guides? Absolutely brilliant. Funny, knowledgeable, and safety-focused, they’ll have you feeling like a pro—even if (like me) you’re terrified of heights! The zip lines are beginner-friendly, with manageable heights and awe-inspiring scenery to keep your mind off the drops below.

Whether you're looking to spice up a quiet weekend, impress visiting friends, or just do something unforgettable, Magalies Canopy Tours offers the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and fun.
